Electrical Engineer | Manufacturing | Day Shift | Industry leading Pension Contribution | Up to £45,000Are you a qualified Electrical Engineer looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We're working with a global leader in the production of specialist materials, and they're looking to bring in an experienced engineer to support and improve the reliability of their electrical systems.This is a day-shift position offering the chance to join a well-established team at a key production facility based in the Colchester area. You'll be working with advanced manufacturing and production machinery, including 3-phase motors, PLCs, and VFDs, and playing a key role in both reactive and preventive maintenance activities.The Role:As an Electrical Engineer, you'll carry out routine maintenance, react quickly to plant breakdowns, and help improve control systems across the site. You'll also participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing system efficiency and operational uptime.Key Responsibilities:Carry out inspections and planned maintenance of electrical equipmentRespond to breakdowns and implement effective, lasting solutionsDiagnose and repair faults in PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, and other electrical componentsSupport installation and commissioning of new electrical systems and controlsMaintain accurate records of work completed and support documentation complianceEnsure all work complies with relevant electrical safety regulationsCollaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure smooth operationsParticipate in a call-out rota and support urgent repair work as neededWhat We're Looking For:18th Edition Certification (essential)Proven experience in electrical maintenance, particularly within a manufacturing or industrial settingStrong skills in PLC/HMI diagnostics and ladder logic interpretationHands-on experience with VFDs, 3-phase systems, and automation controlsExcellent problem-solving ability and fault-finding skillsConfidence working from electrical schematics and technical drawingsUnderstanding of LV circuits and lighting/power distributionWhat's On Offer:Day shift working pattern and early finish on a FridayIndustry leading Pension Contribution26 days holiday plus bank holidaysHealthcare schemeThis is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Electrical Engineer to step into a role that offers variety, challenge, and long-term growth.
