JOB SUMMARY : To assist in the operation of the Community Equipment Service throughout Northern Health and Social Care Trust. KEY RESULT AREAS / MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESMain ResponsibilitiesUnloading of delivery vans and storage of equipment in designated locations.Assisting with the assembly of orders for dispatch to clients, in accordance with requesting officer, instructions including the correct adjustment of variable height equipment.Re-stocking of shelves with new/used equipment as required.To receipt, check and sign for deliveries from Suppliers.To assist with the operation of a PC based stock control system ( Elms2).Undertaking delivery/collections of equipment to clients' homes and satellite stores/departments as and when required to meet the demands of the service.Making use of tail lifts to vehicle after instruction on their use.Assisting when required with the cleaning of community equipment to support the service in accordance with Trust policy.Reporting to the Community Equipment Operational Manager any equipment found to be faulty or due for servicing.Assisting with manual and routine periodical stock checks as required.Maintain a high standard of confidentialityMaintaining the Centre in a clean and tidy manner as directed by the Community Equipment Operational ManagerTo participate in such training and development programmes, as may be considered necessary.Any other duties as assigned by the Community Equipment Operational ManagerGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESEmployees of the Trust will be required to promote and support the mission and vision of the service for which they are responsible and:-At all times provide a caring service and to treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful mannerAt all times demonstrate practice the HSC values of Working Together, Excellence, Openness & Honesty and CompassionCarry out their duties and responsibilities in a manner which assures patient and client safetyComply with all instructions in regard to Infection Prevention and ControlDemonstrate their commitment by their regular attendance and the efficient completion of all tasks allocated to themComply with the Trust's Smoke Free PolicyCarry out their duties and responsibilities in compliance with health and safety policy and statutory regulationsAdhere to equal opportunities policy throughout the course of their employmentEnsure the ongoing confidence of the public in service provisionAdhere to the Code of Conduct for HSC Employees which aims to guide staff, managers and employers in the work that they do and the decisions and choices they have to make. The post holder will ensure that they take all concerns raised with them seriously and act in accordance with the NHSCT Raising Concerns Policy and their professional code of conduct, where applicable.Essential criteria: 6 month's experience of store keeping work.To hold a forklift users certificate or be willing to undertake training to use a forklift.Currently full unrestricted driving license ( out of "R" plates) valid for use in the UK with category B driving entitlement.Applicants with driving convictions for serious motoring offences with 6 or more penalty points will not be considered for interview.Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a teamAbility to work under pressure in a busy environmentAbility to meet daily and weekly delivery schedulesGood customer services skillsGood telephone mannerMaintain confidentiality
