You’ll oversee a team of six Social Workers delivering statutory safeguarding, CIN, CP and court work to children with complex needs and disabilities. The council is committed to high support and high challenge, working relationally and ensuring the lived experience of children is central to all decision-making. You’ll join a stable, permanent workforce with manageable caseloads, strong multi-agency partnerships and an established culture of reflective practice. About the RoleManage and lead the CYPD Social Work Team delivering statutory servicesProvide reflective supervision, annual appraisals and ongoing staff developmentEnsure high-quality practice, performance monitoring and case auditingAllocate cases, oversee safeguarding plans and track case progressionChair complex strategy meetings and support staff preparing for multi-agency forums and courtMaintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory guidanceContribute to service planning, operational instructions and practice developmentManage team budgets, approve expenditure and ensure value for moneyWork collaboratively across council services and external partnersPromote evidence-based, relationship-based practice at all timesAbout YouQualified Social Worker with Social Work England registrationSubstantial post-qualifying experience in statutory safeguardingProven management or supervisory experience within children's servicesStrong understanding of legislation, statutory guidance (including Working Together)Skilled in performance management, analysing data and driving qualityExcellent communicator with strong interpersonal skillsConfident chairing multi-agency meetings and leading complex decision-makingAble to motivate staff, manage change and promote inclusive, strengths-based practiceIT literate and confident using electronic case management systemsBenefits£2,500 Recruitment & Retention AllowanceGenerous LGPS pensionRelocation support availableUp to 30 days annual leaveStrong progression pathways into senior managementExtensive learning, development and wellbeing supportInterview Week: WC 15 December 2025 Closing Date: 14 December 2025 Interested?
