Your new firmThis role is a rare opportunity to work as a Paralegal for a leading international law firm in their General Liability Insurance team in Bristol. The team is part of the firm's Insurance Group and has a well-established client base, acting for a number of market leading liability insurers in the provision of their employers, public and products liability services to insured businesses. The role largely involves running a caseload of personal injury claims arising out of these policies. The General Liability team spans London and Bristol and is linked with the Medical and Life Sciences team. You will have the opportunity to work with talented lawyers and a wide range of clients in a fast-paced environment. Your new roleThe work will be very varied, interesting, and challenging and will include:Managing a caseload of EL and PL claims, including personal injury claimsDelivering a high quality and timely output to clients, ensuring high levels of client service and alignment with agreed working practices and client service level agreementsWorking to develop an environment of constant improvement: enthusiastically sharing with and helping others; and taking responsibility for aspects of team development, such as intranet pages, training and induction, process improvement etc.Capturing and collating required Management Information in accordance with agreed practice for clientsContributing to the development and improvement of the team's service, support, processes and proceduresThe firm is supportive of qualification through alternative routes and has a funding policy in place to support with the costs for SQE2, Equivalent Means and CILEx. This role offers the opportunity for quality qualifying work experience and the firm has seen paralegals successfully qualify via these routes. The team and firm's growth ambitions also provide opportunities for supervisory positions in the future. What you'll need to succeedPrevious experience of managing your own caseload of EL and PL claims, including personal injury and fast track litigation. Defendant experience is preferred, but candidates with claimant experience will also be considered. Litigation experience (experience of insurance is desirable but not essential)A good knowledge of legal proceduresExcellentmunication skills, both orally and in writingAble to demonstrate good initiative and problem-solving skills but be conscious of when to consult others.What you'll get in returnWith both flexible and hybrid working options available, this is a great opportunity that would suit Paralegals who are already based in the Southwest, or who are looking to move to the region in the near future.
