The Role:
So, what will you be doing as a Development Technician ?
- Undertake surveys on returned assemblies and carry out modifications and repairs.
- Test electrical and electronic assemblies and equipment using standard safe operating procedures to MoD and commercial standards.
- Build first-off prototype equipment and liaise with Engineering to achieve optimum solutions.
- Conduct testing and laboratory testing of products.
- Repair PCB and wired assemblies to IPC standards.
- Ensure supporting documentation and company procedures are followed.
- Perform any other duties as reasonably required by Management.
- Collaborate with Engineering to build prototype equipment and find optimal solutions.
- Adhere to health and safety legislation and policies to ensure a safe and legally compliant working environment.
- Ensure adherence to company procedures and documentation standards.
What are we looking for in our next Development Technician?
- Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety requirements and legislation.
- Ability to read electrical/electronic/wiring diagrams.
- Broad range of general engineering skills, covering communication (written and verbal), systems engineering methodologies, and understanding of safety and configuration control.
- Awareness of ESD prevention practices and component handling.
- HND/HNC in relevant discipline or equivalent.
- IPC 610/620 qualification.
- J-STD-001 qualification.
- IPC-771/7721 qualification.
