The company operates as a medium-sized entity, offering a professional environment for its team membersJob Description* Responsible for month end and year end processes and reporting, ensuring a smooth process in line with agreed timetables.* Undertake all month end activities, including but not limited to identifying, preparing and posting journals, reviewing and identifying potential missing accruals and prepayments, owning pay models, locking forecasts and assisting stakeholders with commentary for variances.* Ensure the integrity of transactions on financial systems, ensuring good controls and checks are in place to maintain accuracy.* As required analyse financial and non-financial data, to determine trends, correlations and other statistical information which impact business decisions.* Support Finance Business Partners in providing explanations for significant changes in budget, forecast and actuals; provide updates on issues, risks and opportunities to senior managers.* Produce high quality monthly finance reports and support Finance Business Partners in preparing insightful management information for senior managers.* Provide support and requested information from auditors* Improve system and financial processes to drive efficiency and compliance.* Gain knowledge of the wider Finance function to support self-development.* To keep abreast of accounting developments to ensure own continuous professional development is ongoing and up to date* Ad hoc finance tasksThe Successful ApplicantA successful Management Accountant should have:A professional qualification in accounting or finance (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).Experience in financial reporting and management accountingStrong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.Proficiency in financial software and tools relevant to the role.Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.What's on OfferCompetitive daily rate of £235 to £275 GBP (Umbrella), depending on experience.Temporary contract with potential opportunities for professional growth.Work in a collaborative and supportive environment in Southampton.Hybrid working (3 days in the office).This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Management Accountant.
