Automation Support Engineer12 Months initially Hybrid - London 2-3 Days per week £Negotiable Rate (Inside IR35) Project Background-To improve operational efficiency, business users and our team have developed and deployed more than 50 internal tools in the last years. These tools automate tasks such as downloading files from internal systems, transforming data, and generating reports. However, they are not as stable as expected. In addition, we are piloting new workflows using Excel and other lightweight tools outside of core systems. As our business expands, the scope of work has grown beyond the capacity of our current team. We are now seeking external support to maintain, stabilize and further develop these tools. The selected candidate will be responsible for: Monitoring the automated tools currently in operation. Troubleshooting issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing both temporary fixes and permanent solutions. Improving tool stability and streamlining monitoring processes. Designing and developing new tools to support evolving business needs. Required Skills Advanced Excel knowledge, VBA and VBS scripting, Basic Python Experience with Power Automate, SharePoint, and Office Scripts is a strong plus Experience of system monitoring and operating. Business Skills: Mindset of keeping stakeholders updated, seeking clarification when instructions are unclear or incorrect. Documentation for specification and runbook. Capability of tracking daily progress and adjusting timelines as needed.
