Transport PlannerAlvaston, Derby£32,000 per annum We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a fast paced Food and Beverage logistics operation based in Derby. This role sits within a busy control tower environment and plays a key part in ensuring the smooth and cost effective planning and routing of vehicles across the network. Hours of Work:09:00 to 18:00, Monday to FridayTemp to perm Key Responsibilities:Plan and route vehicles efficiently to ensure full utilisation of resourcesLiaise with customer service teams to resolve delivery related issuesEnsure all vehicles are planned in line with customer SLAsManage subcontractor usage and ensure costs align with agreed ratesResolve subcontractor financial queries in a timely mannerWork closely with Transport Managers to address operational issuesProvide final route plans to the warehouse within agreed deadlinesPlan ahead for peak periods and secure necessary transport resourceSupport performance monitoring against customer KPIs Skills and Experience Required:Previous experience in a transport planning role at a supervisory levelExperience working with subcontractorsStrong UK geographical knowledgeAbility to work under pressure and to tight deadlinesConfident user of Microsoft Office including ExcelExcellent communication and relationship building skillsStrong organisational, time management and problem solving skillsKnowledge of ESP or GTS systems would be desirableThis is an excellent opportunity for a Transport Planner looking for long term security in a growing and supportive business.
