Senior Process Engineer | Water & Wastewater | Belfast Vickerstock are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading MEICA design and build contractor as they continue to expand their technical capability within the water sector. This company delivers complex, high-value projects across the UK and Ireland, driving innovation in clean and wastewater treatment through smart, sustainable engineering solutions. As part of this continued growth, they are now seeking to appoint a Senior Process Engineer to join their Belfast-based team. This is a key technical and leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape project delivery and support the next generation of engineers within a business that values collaboration, innovation and professional development.Your new role as Senior Process Engineer As a Senior Process Engineer, you'll play a central role in the design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects, from concept through to commissioning. You will:Lead process design activities for both clean and wastewater schemes, ensuring solutions are robust, efficient and aligned with client and regulatory standardsDevelop mass balances, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and technical specificationsWork collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams alongside civil, mechanical, and electrical engineersOversee workloads across several concurrent projects, balancing resources and priorities effectivelyMentor and guide junior process engineers, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing within the teamContribute to design reviews, HAZOPs and commissioning activitiesLiaise directly with clients, supply chain partners, and delivery teams to ensure seamless technical coordination What you will need to succeed as Senior Process Engineer To be considered for this role, you should have:A degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Process Engineering (or related discipline)8+ years' experience in process design for water and/or wastewater treatment projectsStrong understanding of process modelling, plant performance and treatment technologiesExperience managing workloads, delegating tasks and supporting junior team membersExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsThe ability to work proactively in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment Desirable:Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it)Experience with UK water utilities or D&B environmentsFamiliarity with digital design tools and process simulation software What's in it for you If successful, you will benefit from:A competitive salary and benefits packageClear pathways for career progression within a forward-thinking, expanding businessExposure to a wide variety of technically challenging projects across the UK and IrelandOngoing professional development, with full support for Chartership and CPD activities For a confidential discussion on this or other engineering roles within the water sector, contact Brian Mitchell at Vickerstock Recruitment
