We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Gastro on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Gastro department.Our client provide acute and complex services and a range of outpatient, diagnostic services whilst at their other sites in West Sussex and in Surrey provide less complex planned services. In 2019 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated their services as 'Outstanding' and they are one of the best performing Trusts in England, these include various plaudits such as: Winners of Health Service Journal Acute Trust of the year award 2021, National Patient Safety Awards winner and strive to be a beacon for safety in all that they do, They are in the top 20% nationally for staff recommending the Trust as a place to work or receive treatment, Their staff rate us the best in the country among comparable acute trusts when asked if they would recommend the Trust as a place to work and when asked whether care of patients is the organisation's top priority & their workforce are amongst the most motivated in the country; we achieved the top acute hospital score in the country for staff engagement in the last national staff survey.The appointee will be joining the current team of seven Consultant Gastroenterologists, two Gastroenterology Specialty Doctors, two Nurse Endoscopists, six Upper GI Surgeons and seven Colorectal Surgeons, 3.5 IBD Clinical Nurse Specialists and an Upper GI Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist. The successful appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties, such as: Participate in the Gastroenterology on-call rota 1:8 including services for upper GI bleeding. No GIM commitment, Providing OPD services in gastroenterology, Providing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI Endoscopy, Care for inpatients -speciality-based ward (predominately gastroenterology/IBD/hepatology) & Participate in governance, quality improvement, audit and teaching along with the fact There will be opportunity to develop sub-speciality skills.Additional Information - 10 P.A's - Prestigious NHS Trust - A well supported & friendly team - Must have GMC Registration - Outstanding Schools within public and private sectors This is a Consultant in Gastro vacancy.
