Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) Location: Newcastle Start Date: ASAP / September 2025 Job Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, term time only) Salary: £89 - £103 per day (depending on experience)Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? Protocol Education is working closely with a number of inclusive and nurturing SEND schools across Newcastle who are looking to appoint dedicated and patient Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.The Role: As a SEND TA, you will: Work 1:1 or with small groups of pupils to support their individual learning and emotional needs. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons. Support pupils with personal care needs where required. Use strategies to manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment. Collaborate with other professionals such as SENCOs and therapists. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in school or other settings). A calm, caring, and adaptable approach. Strong communication and behaviour management skills. A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs. A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
