Energy UK collaborates with members, government, regulators, and stakeholders to advocate for a sustainable UK energy industry. Members span the energy sector, suppliers, power generators, and technology/service providers, actively engaging in policy development to ensure fair customer treatment, high industry standards, and the transition to a Net Zero economy.

Policy by Murray are leading the search for their first-ever Head of Business Decarbonisation, looking for someone who's ready to shape and lead this key programme. The job involves diving into technologies, tariffs, markets, and services to help businesses make the leap to Net Zero. You'll be the go-to person for engaging with businesses on energy matters, collaborating with EUKs expert policy teams, and working on everything from industrial to small business decarbonisation. It's a high profile role with a focus on making sure businesses can access affordable, low-carbon power and tap into the latest energy efficiency tech. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Advocacy , you'll be a key EUK representative for public platforms including at roundtables, panels and business advisory boards, tackling issues like hydrogen and CCUS.

This is a 2 year fixed term contract, aimed at laying the groundwork for this vital initiative and securing Energy UK's profile a the go-to organisation for discussing business decarbonisation.

Collaborate with the Deputy Director of Advocacy, management, and executive teams to pinpoint key areas where Energy UK can lead discussions on energy-related issues in the broader non-domestic community. Head a new cross-cutting workstream focused on the energy sector's role in facilitating business decarbonisation, with flexibility to identify additional areas of work based on skills and the broader environment. Strengthen relationships with key companies and business groups, including those in other energy trade bodies, and support existing non-domestic supply members in discussions with policymakers and business groups. Work closely with the membership team to attract new members involved in non-domestic energy supply, businesses aiming to decarbonise, and service providers to these members. Act as a spokesperson as needed and stay informed about sector issues across all policy areas, conducting horizon scanning for emerging issues or themes in the energy sector or the broader environment.
