If you're motivated by solving intricate engineering challenges and contributing to products used by allied navies worldwide, this is your opportunity to make a tangible difference.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer Contractor with strong expertise in complex enclosure design to support our growing engineering team. You'll work within integrated product teams and collaborate closely with specialists across mechanical, electrical, systems and electro-mechanical disciplines to develop high-performance mechanical solutions for cutting-edge defence products.This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy variety, and want to contribute across the full product lifecycle-from concept generation to final delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate high-quality mechanical models using CAD toolsContribute to all stages of product design and developmentApply mechanical engineering expertise to support new business opportunitiesWork closely with cross-discipline teams to develop robust, innovative solutionsChampion engineering excellence and best practice across the organisationExperience & QualificationsDegree or higher in Mechanical EngineeringBroad technical understanding, including systems, electrical, electro-mechanical or rotating machineryStrong experience with manufacturing methods for electrical enclosures (fabrications, castings, welding, machining, corrosion protection)Proficient in SolidWorksGood knowledge of materials and design lifecycle processes (gated phases, design reviews)Experience designing to stringent requirements, including shock, EMC and thermal constraintsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsYou'll be part of a team that welcomes new ways of working and empowers people to excel in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.***PLEASE NOTE***Security Clearance (SC) or eligibility to gain is required to be considered for this vacancy Services advertised by Gold Group are those of an Agency and/or an Employment Business.
