Your newpanyA leading organisation in the distribution and processing sector is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of health, safety, and environmental systems across a diverse and high-risk operational environment.Your new role As Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust HSE policies and procedures across all operations. You will drive a positive safety culture, and minimise risks associated with handling bulk materials.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain Health & Safety management systems and policies.Conduct risk assessments across depots, manufacturing, and distribution activities.Implement safe systems of work.Carry out site inspections and audits, ensuring continuous improvement.Investigate incidents and produce detailed reports with corrective actions.Deliver training on H&S topics and promote behavioural safety.Ensurepliance with environmental and safety regulations.Liaise with external bodies including HSE, insurers, and auditors.Prepare monthly H&S performance reports for senior management.Support emergency response planning and drills.What you’ll need to succeedNEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) or equivalent.Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within logistics, manufacturing, or similar high-risk environments.Strong knowledge of UK H&S and environmental legislation.Experience in risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.Excellentmunication and leadership skills.What you’ll get in returnOpportunity to lead H&S strategy in a dynamic, multi-site operation.Career development and training support.
