Assessments Salary: £49,282 - £53,460 / Year Job type: PermanentLocation: Hertfordshire Save Share Apply now Senior Practitioner – Assessments Salary: £42,839 + £6,443 market-enhanced payment, progressing to £47,181 + £6,279; plus £1,000 welcome payment Contract: Permanent About the Team: This role is part of Hertfordshire’s Assessment Service — taking statutory referrals under the Children Act. The service is multi-layered, including the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), Joint Child Protection Investigation Team, Social Workers, Practitioners, and Senior Practitioners. Senior Practitioners help drive reflective practice, quality assessments, and strategic service improvement. Key Responsibilities:Lead complex statutory assessments; analyse risks and strengths, and write detailed assessment reports.Supervise, mentor and support Social Workers and Practitioners in the team.Oversee child protection enquiries, conferences, and safeguarding plans.Encourage reflective learning in the team; support development of practice and policy.Engage with partner agencies and contribute to multi-agency planning and reviews.Person Specification:Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.Substantial experience in statutory assessments, safeguarding, or child protection.Strong leadership, analytical and decision-making skills.Excellent multi-agency working experience.Effective communication and reflective practice skills.Benefits:£1,000 one-off welcome payment Monthly market-enhanced payment BreakroomSocial Work England registration fee reimbursed Additional annual leave Hybrid working model To Apply / More Info: Please contact Phil – Ackerman Pierce 📞 020 3854 6682 ✉️ ppuaca@ackermanpierce.com Save Share Apply now
