TeacherActive are proud to be supporting a specialist SEND provision who are seeking a dedicated professional to join their team and make a real difference to pupils with a range of complex needs.As a Children Support Worker, you will work closely with teaching staff, therapists and behaviour specialists to ensure pupils receive the individualised support they need to thrive. You’ll be working with students who may present with PMLD, SLD, ASD, communication delays and social/emotional needs, so a calm, patient and adaptable approach is essential.What you’ll be doing as a Children Support Worker:Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to pupils with varied learning, communication and sensory needsAssisting with personal care, therapy programmes, mobility routines and regulation strategiesSupporting the class teacher with lesson delivery, resource preparation and behaviour supportBuilding strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, independence and safetyCollaborating with the wider SEND team to track progress and contribute to EHCP targetsWhat we’re looking for:Experience working as a Children Support Worker or within SEND settings (PMLD, SLD, SEMH, ASD)A nurturing, empathetic and patient approachStrong behaviour management and de-escalation skillsWillingness to assist with personal care and mobilityTeam Teach or similar training is desirable but not essentialWhat you’ll get:Competitive daily rates paid weeklyOngoing CPD, safeguarding training and specialist SEND developmentA dedicated consultant available 24/7The opportunity to secure long-term or permanent rolesIf you’re a passionate Children Support Worker ready to take the next step and support pupils who need you most, we’d love to hear from you.
