KS1 Teacher – SherborneSalary: MPS – Paid to Scale Contract Type: Full-time, Spring Term Start Date: 5 January 2026 An established and welcoming primary school in Sherborne is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated KS1 Class Teacher to join its committed team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for high-quality teaching and learning, a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, and confidence in delivering phonics through Read Write Inc. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold the school’s culture of excellence and ensure every child reaches their full potential. Key Responsibilities •Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to the needs of all pupils • Use a range of effective teaching strategies to promote progress and achievement • Build and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and external partners • Monitor, assess, and track pupil attainment, using data to inform planning and interventions • Contribute to curriculum development and take an active role in the wider life of the school • Create an inclusive, respectful, and aspirational classroom culture where every child can succeed The Ideal Candidate • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent • Has proven experience teaching primary-aged pupils • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of safeguarding and a strong commitment to pupil welfare • Possesses excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills • Is reflective, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional development • Brings a positive, caring, and resilient approach to supporting children’s learning and well-being This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, forward-thinking school where every member of staff works together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children.
