Learning Support Assistant – Secondary PRU (ADHD & SEMH) Location: Croydon Start: ASAP | Pay: £105–£120 per day | Contract: Full-time, Long-term A Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the Croydon area is looking for a resilient, calm and committed Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong experience supporting students with ADHD, SEMH needs, and those who may display challenging behaviours. About the Role: You will be working with KS3–KS4 learners who require tailored support to engage positively in their education. The role involves both classroom-based assistance and focused 1:1 or small-group intervention, helping students regulate emotions, build confidence, and make progress both academically and socially. Key Responsibilities:Support pupils with ADHD and SEMH needs in a PRU environmentAssist in managing behaviour and creating a calm, structured learning spaceDeliver targeted support to help students access learningWork closely with teachers, mentors, and behaviour support teamsEncourage positive choices, emotional regulation, and resilienceContribute to personalised learning plans and restorative approaches Requirements:Previous experience in a Secondary PRU (essential)Strong background working with students with ADHD and SEMHConfident managing challenging behaviour in a supportive, non-confrontational wayAbility to build trust and rapport with vulnerable young peopleTeam player with resilience, patience, and a positive mindsetValid Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply How to Apply: If you’re passionate about helping young people overcome barriers and succeed, this PRU would love to hear from you.
