£46,233.72 This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to lead the Housing Solutions Team at Broxbourne Council. We are looking for an experienced manager to join the team to deliver an excellent homelessness prevention and housing advice service. The team is busy and forward-thinking, always looking to secure the best possible solutions for households with housing needs, and needs a strong leader with the same aims. The role will lead the team to support those at risk of homelessness to resolve their housing needs and find settled accommodation for homeless households. Providing leadership and strategic oversight of service delivery, as well as ensure the smooth day to day running of the service, this role is vital to the success of the Council’s objective to minimise homelessness. You will be responsible for leading the team that assesses homelessness applications and provides effective housing advice. This means you need experience in applying housing law and policy to individual cases through careful assessment of circumstances, investigations and enquiries in, carried out in a consistent and transparent way; attention to detail is key. The role is varied, dealing with a diverse client group. You will be working with residents of Broxbourne Borough that are experiencing housing need, so experience supporting vulnerable people and families is essential, as is the ability to converse at ease with members of the public. If you are interested in this role, you must be computer literate and have a minimum of five GCSE or equivalent passes at least grade C, which should include English and Maths. Experience of working in the public sector is preferred, with specific housing related experience and/or qualification an advantage. Training will be provided, particularly in relation to Council specific policies, as well as safeguarding protocols. Experience in a busy and varied customer facing role, dealing with vulnerable or disadvantaged people is desirable. More importantly, you will demonstrate your commitment to working collaboratively as part of the wider housing team to help local people and families and make a difference to their lives. A full driving licence would also be advantageous. This role requires a disclosure and barring service check as it is working with children or vulnerable clients.
