Job description GCSE Maths Outreach Tutor (QTS/PGCE Qualified) – BromleyABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Are you a passionate, qualified Maths teacher looking to step away from the traditional classroom? Prospero Teaching is on the lookout for an inspirational GCSE Maths Outreach Tutor to work 1:1 with secondary-aged learners in the Bromley area who are currently out of mainstream education. This is your chance to deliver tailored, meaningful lessons that help bridge critical learning gaps and reignite a love for learning in students who need it most. Each placement offers a unique and rewarding challenge – supporting pupils who may have experienced barriers to education including anxiety, SEND, or school refusal. You’ll play a vital role in re-engaging them academically and emotionally, helping to rebuild their confidence through structured, engaging sessions. This role is perfect for experienced educators with QTS or PGCE, looking to move into a more flexible, personalised teaching environment, where you can truly make a difference. You’ll be fully supported by Prospero’s dedicated team to ensure every student thrives. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS Location – Bromley and surrounding areas Position – GCSE Maths Outreach Tutor Type of Work – 1:1 tuition (in-person) with disengaged learners Start Date – ASAP Duration – Ongoing, tailored to individual student needs Contract Type – Temporary (with consistent hours and long-term potential) Hours – After-school hours (flexible), 1 to 3 hours per session Rate of Pay – From £25 per hour (dependant on experience) Working Pattern – Part-time or full-time available depending on your schedule EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS Must hold QTS, PGCE or equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification Minimum 6 months+ teaching experience in a UK school Strong subject knowledge in GCSE Maths Up-to-date Safeguarding training is desirable TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST: Hold the Right to Work in the UK Have an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one) Provide two recent child-related references from the last two years WHAT PROSPERO TEACHING CAN OFFER YOU: Access to accredited CPD courses, including safeguarding and behaviour management Ongoing support from our specialist team The chance to work flexibly, with a variety of students, making a real difference every day Interested?
