Job description SENCO – Chorlton:Prospero Teaching are currently seeking a qualified SENCO and teacher to join a secondary pupil referral unit in the Chorlton area. The school has a dedicated and passionate team, in which you will provide leadership and direction for SEN within the setting. As well as being the SENCO for the PRU, you will be required to teach lessons. This role is full time and is temp to perm for the successful candidate. The Role: Collaborating with parents, carers and external agencies to encourage progress for children and young people with SEMH Providing advice about curriculum delivery and teaching methods to improve engagement Developing policies and procedures, alongside SLT, contributing to a multi-disciplinary assessment of pupils needs Assessing pupils’ attainment, strengths and needs to inform IEPs for transitions Position Details: Location: Chorlton Position Details: SENCO/SEMH Teacher Type of Work: Temp to Perm Pay Rate: UPS + SEN Start date: Jan 2026 End date: Ongoing Experience, Training & Qualifications: Previous experience working as a SENCO in a similar setting QTS and the national SENCO qualification is essential The ability and willingness to teach outside of specialist subject area Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEN, Autism, ADHD Ability to build rapport with pupils, parents and carers TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional references OTHER
