We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Clinical Oncology (Head, Neck and Lung) on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Haematology department.Being an area you specialize in, I wondered if you might either be able to recommend someone to me or, if you might be interested yourself. Our client is a multi-site acute and community Trust, based on the outskirts of London, which serves a population of more than 336,000 across the area; and a tertiary cancer centre, offering state of the art diagnostic and treatment services to a population of two million. 90,000 patients are admitted for treatment, around 75,000 patients attend our Emergency Department and we deliver around 3,000 babies each year.In particular, the CQC has now reported its findings, rating two more core services as ‘outstanding' these are for use of medical care,end of life care & use of resources.The successful appointee will join a team of colleagues to work with to provide a head and neck and lung oncology service, including radiotherapy provision. The appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties, including: provide Oncology expertise in the management and treatment of patients with head and neck and lung cancer, be part of the MDT and clinical team, play a full part in the out-of-hours On-Call service for Oncology, provide cover for fellow Consultant colleagues in respect of periods of leave and organise leave in conjunction of Consultant colleagues, ensuring that the requirements of clinical governance & audit are met & even play a full part in the professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.Our client's location is an attractive place to live and work situated on the South East of England, with an international airport and direct trains to London and access to some of the best schools in the country.Additional Information - Will consider full time or part time - 10 P.A's - Prestigious NHS Trust - A well supported & friendly team - Must have GMC Registration this is Consultant in Clinical Oncology (Head, Neck and Lung) vacancy.
