SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant Want real Early Years SEN experience before teacher training?Help disadvantaged EYFS pupils feel settled, engaged and ready to learn. *** SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant *** Immediate start until July 2026 *** £80 - £100 per day (term time only) *** ‘Good’ primary school, Willenhall *** Work within EYFS with disadvantaged pupils The Role: You will provide structured 1:1 and small group support in Nursery and Reception for pupils facing disadvantage and additional needs. You will break activities into clear steps, use visual timetables and now/next prompts, and rehearse routines so transitions are calm. You will lead short adult-led tasks in phonics, early number, communication and fine-motor skills, then connect gains back into play. You will model language at children’s level, build vocabulary through simple talk frames, and coach turn taking and sharing. You will prepare visuals, task boards and cue cards that build independence, record quick observations after each session, update intervention trackers, and agree next actions with the class teacher and SENCO. You will follow behaviour and safeguarding procedures and support daily routines at drop-off, snack, outdoor learning and home time. The Candidate & Requirements: You are patient, organised and clear in your communication. You follow plans closely, spot triggers early and adapt quietly so children re-engage and grow independence. Degree, 2:2 or above in any subject.Communication, confident written and spoken English.Enhanced DBS, held already or willingness to obtain.Desire to work in education or with children, strong interest in EYFS, SEN and pupil wellbeing.Experience working with children, relevant experience is desirable but not essential. The School: This ‘Good’ Willenhall primary is multi-form entry with predictable EYFS routines from arrival to home time. Indoor and outdoor areas are well resourced with zoned provision for role play, construction, small world, mark making and sensory exploration. Phonics runs daily with matched reading practice. Early maths follows small, connected steps with frequent retrieval so methods are consistent across classes. Inclusion is embedded through plan do review cycles, easy access to visual supports and regulation spaces, and regular check-ins with the SENCO. Teams co-plan and share ready-to-use activity cards, language prompts and observation sheets.
