Your newpany Sandwell Adult Social Care is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our newly established Moving and Handling Team. Their focus is on enabling independence and enhancing wellbeing for individuals living with long-term conditions at home. Often, care is delivered in ways that may not align with personal preferences due to moving and handling legislation. Sandwell's goal is to challenge this norm and support people to live meaningful lives with greater autonomy.Your new role As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will:Assess and rmend specialist equipment and adaptations to meetplex needs.Apply up-to-date moving and handling techniques to reduce carer handling safely.Work collaboratively with individuals, caregivers, and professionals to promote independence.What you'll need to succeed We wee applications from experienced Occupational Therapists with a passion for moving and handling. You will need:A degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy.Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).Proven experience in conducting proportionate assessments and rmending appropriate equipment/adaptations.Strong understanding of health and social care legislation.Excellent interpersonal,munication, and organisational skills.A valid driving licence and the ability to travel across the Borough (reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with disabilities).What you'll get in return Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.Supportive and collaborative work environment.Engage in reflective supervision, peer support, and relevant training.
