Care of Elderly Consultant

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Care of the Elderly on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful department. Our client are a combined acute and community provider delivering a range of health care services to people across South Yorkshire. At the heart of the Trust are more than 4,500 members of staff who are working out of the main Hospital site and a number of community locations. A range of specialist services are delivered across the South Yorkshire region and nationally. In fact, the trust have achieved a number of areas of excellence have been highlighted within the Trust and received national recognition. These include: The Photophoresis Service is a nationally recognised centre providing this specialist service, Ear Care and Audiology Services won a Nursing Times Award for their innovation and transformation of patient services, Acupin Therapy was recognised in the Royal College of Nursing Awards & The Trust's in-house digital system, SEPIA, which continues to be progressed following it being highlighted in the HSJ Awards.The successful appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties, such as: In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to provide a service in Elderly Medicine with responsibility for in-patients and outpatients, In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to play a full part in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the department. This includes being on-call for telephone advice and major incidents, to provide cover for Consultant and Senior colleagues in respect of periods of leave, In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to take part in medical audit and research as appropriate & to play a full part in the professional supervision and management of junior medical staff amongst other various duties.Our client's location provides the best of both worlds, where there are high quality housing and schools, a thriving restaurant and theatre scene, excellent transport links to Manchester & a beautiful North west coast with a great rural outdoors area.Additional Information - 10 P.A's - Prestigious NHS Trust - A well supported & friendly team - Must have GMC Registration - Outstanding Schools within public and private sectors This is a Consultant in Care of the Elderly vacancy.
