There is a starting salary of up to £28,000 and benefits including free parking, annual bonus, pension scheme, childcare vouchers and holidays that increase to 25 days plus bank holidays over time (plus your birthday as an extra day off), staff rewards and plenty more What will you be doing as an Export Import Assistant:Working as part of a small team you will be dealing with a mixture of export and import work, mainly via sea fright out also with road and air. including executing accurate customs clearance documents to ensure customers remain compliant with Customs & Compliance requirements as well as also planning and managing brokerage workflows. Duties will include: Liaising with customers and internal contacts regarding timescales and factors that will affect transit timesUpdating critical path with accurate ETAsEnsuring all relevant import paperwork is in place and distributing this to forwarders for customs clearanceSelecting best shipping method (FCL /LCL, consolidated at origin) based on container cost and efficient utilisationArranging air and road freight for EU imports, as appropriateCreating IPAFFS import notifications.Working closely with freight forwarders, couriers and hauliersChecking and approving invoices for freight forwardingRecord and track ocean freight quotes for forwarder performance analysis.Supporting sales teams with export paperwork and logistics arrangements, ensuring compliance with export regulationsSourcing airfreight and courier quotes as requiredLiaising with the warehouse to arrange container deliveriesWe would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:Experience in a similar import / export role with previous experience of working with hauliers and freight forwardersKnowledge of various Incoterms and their use in imports and exports - specifically FOB, EXW, DAP and DDPKnowledge of commodity codes and customs tariff classifications, including use of the ATR and BTI databasesExperience managing regulatory compliance and working with customs authoritiesStrong IT skills including use of Excel, ERPs and familiarity with HMRC platformsStrong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressureWhat will you get in return for your work as Export Import Assistant:A salary of £27,000 to £28,000, depending on experience21 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 25 daysYour birthday as an extra day offFree parkingPension schemeRegular staff rewards and social eventsStaff discountSupport for your charity workStaff referral bonusGreat career prospectsFabulous working environment with a real family feel where everyone works welltogetherIf this sounds like an Export Import Assistant role you would LOVE, please send your CV today Apply now by sending your CV.
