Job description Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with diverse needs? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tutor to support two recently arrived refugee children in the Salisbury area. This is a unique opportunity to provide alternative provision and help shape their journey in the UK.As a Tutor, you will: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential. Record student progress and report on this weekly. Be understanding, empathetic and patient. Record attendance. Be organised, dependable and creative. Be calm, fair and adaptable. About you: Proven experience working with: EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Complex needs and early developmental stages Strong understanding of: Early language acquisition Speech and language strategies PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) Empathetic, patient, and creative approach to teaching Ability to work independently and adapt to individual learning styles Position – SEN TutorContract or position start date – ASAPContract or position end date (if applicable) – N/AFull time/part-time – Opportunities for bothHours – Varied- A number of roles are available. Essential & Desirable Qualifications: Experience working with children or young people with SEN/PMLD Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach Ability to tailor learning to individual needs Strong communication and organisational skills A minimum of 1 year’s experience working within UK schools. To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must: Hold right to work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide references upon request Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
