Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading firm in the agri-business industry on the appointment of a Health & Safety Officer.As a Health & Safety Officer, you will support the business in improving Health & Safety performance, drive a culture of continuous improvement and ensure legislative compliance.In your new role:Develop and implement the company's Health and Safety management system across multiple sites and departments in NI, ROI, and GB, incl. creation of risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and related policies and proceduresPrepare Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) for non-routine activitiesReview and update Health and Safety documentation proactively and as neededDeliver Health and Safety inductions for new employees and ensure completion of job-specific trainingConduct investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses, liaising with relevant external bodies such as the HSE and insurersManage Health and Safety compliance on construction projects carried out by the internal construction team, ensuring full adherence to CDM regulationsEnsure all Health and Safety legislative requirements are met and maintainedConduct internal Health, Safety, and Environmental inspections across all company locations, addressing minor to moderate issues and escalating major findings to company directorsDelegate tasks to relevant internal teams to address hazards and maintain a safe working environmentMonitor the maintenance, certification, and thorough examination of machinery, equipment, and plantAssess employee compliance with Health and Safety proceduresWhat you will need to succeed:Experience within a similar H&S roleRelevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH)Understanding of HSE legislation and regulationsGood communication skillsIT and numeracy skills (MS Office)Full clean driving licenseDesirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):IOSH MembershipNEBOSH Diploma or DegreeExperience within either Construction, Engineering or Agricultural industriesFor a more detailed brief and a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis, our Health and Safety Specialist today.
