The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an experienced Acoustic Engineer to join a market-leading and award-winning design and engineering consultancy, who are expanding the Energy Infrastructure team focusing on Wind Farm related projects.

About the company:

Our client provides innovative solutions to complex engineering and design challenges for all their projects and they are the UK's largest and longest-established acoustic consultancies. Their wind farm experience stretches back to , and now extends to over wind farms both within the UK and abroad, acting as independent noise consultants for wind turbine manufacturers, wind farm developers, local authorities, and private individuals alike.

In the ever-evolving sector of energy infrastructure and renewables, they are also called upon to support other technological developments including solar farms, battery storage, waste to energy, and grid connections.

Job Overview:

We are looking for someone to take on a wide variety of projects. The majority focus would be on wind farms, but would involve other growing technologies.

The Acoustic engineer would be involved in all aspects of projects, from early stages to completion, with activities including environmental sound surveys, calculations and EIA chapter drafting. There would be training and use of our unique suite of dedicated software tools and equipment inventory.

The role would also involve maintaining and developing contacts with key clients in the industry - much of our work comes through repeat business by delivering a high standard of work support would be called on for preparing project scopes and fee proposals. There will be a need to be organised to manage and deliver timely and commercially successful outputs.

What you can bring:

Acoustics Engineer with previous experience in wind farm noise assessments and other energy infrastructure projects. The candidate should have a working knowledge of all elements of a standard wind farm noise assessment: undertaking and analysing background noise surveys, noise predictions and writing up an EIA noise chapter and supporting information. Experience of other EIA-scale projects in the renewable sector or general build environment would also be considered useful but this is not a requirement of the role. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and membership of institute of acoustics would be expected.
