It focuses on delivering efficient and effective services to its customers while maintaining high standards of operational excellence.Job DescriptionDevelop and implement category strategies to deliver cost savings and efficiencies.Manage procurement processes in compliance with PCR2015 and PA23 regulations.Identify and mitigate risks in procurement activities across categories.Work closely with stakeholders to align procurement goals with business objectives.Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.Ensure adherence to organisational policies and industry standards in all procurement activities.Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed.The Successful ApplicantA successful Procurement Category Manager should have:Professional qualifications such as MCIPS or equivalent experience.Thorough knowledge of PCR2015 and PA23 regulations.Proven experience in category management within the Transport & Distribution sector.Strong analytical and negotiation skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.What's on OfferCompetitive salary ranging from £45,337 to £68,013.Attractive pension scheme to support your future.Generous holiday entitlement for a healthy work-life balance.Permanent position within a reputable organisation in Newcastle upon Tyne.If you are an experienced Procurement Category Manager looking for an exciting opportunity within the Transport & Distribution industry, apply now to take the next step in your careerPotential interview dates WC 8th December 2025 but could be earlier or later due to diary availability of all parties involved.Closing date for applications is Sunday 30th November 2025 however the employer and agency reserve the right to close the requirement for application at any time should a suitable candidate be acquired during the process.
