Job Duties The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Norfolk State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective August 2026. This appointment offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a vibrant and interdisciplinary department that encompasses drama, fine arts, and music. Responsibilities for this nine-month position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in drama, fine arts and music, maintaining an active research agenda, and collaboration with faculty across departmental disciplines. Minimum Qualifications Minimum QualificationsA terminal degree (MFA, DMA, or Ph.D.) in a relevant field (Fine Arts, Music, Drama/Theatre) Preferred Qualifications1. Preference for candidates who have a record of interdisciplinary teaching and/or collaboration within the areas of visual and performing arts. 2.
