INTERNAL APPLICANTS MUST APPLY VIA MYSELFNLC7 £30, - £32, (Plus additional payments for non-core hours)The post holder is responsible for the delivery of the day-to-day operation of library service points in a designated area, the effective support of the service-wide theme of Reader Development and the provision of a full range of professional support services in accordance with North Lanarkshire Council Policies and Procedures.Key areas of work will include, helping to secure within the resources available, responsive, effective and efficient services within the designated area, providing the best available professional assistance and advice and supporting the management and co-ordination of all relevant thematic activities and resources across the authority to achieve their maximum potential and effectiveness and bringing forward recommendations as appropriate.The main thematic focus in this post will be in reader development.You must hold a degree in Librarianship/Information Science or relevant first degree plus post-graduate qualification in librarianship/Information science or equivalent and hold a chartership qualification or be working towards one. You will have experience in dealing with public, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.You will have the ability to assist and deal with a wide range of ICT packages and platforms, including social media, experience of library management systems and a good knowledge of current library practices.You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role. The post is based at Coatbridge Library and the post holder will be required to travel throughout North Lanarkshire.Work Pattern –Monday 11 am to 7pm, Tuesday to Friday 9am to 5pm(One Saturday every six weeks will be worked as part of the shift pattern, with a weekday off provided during that week).35 hours per week.Working here at North Lanarkshire Council If you’re considering a career with us, you’ll be keen to know what’s in it for you.
