Our ARP provision means we have a higher proportion than most schools of children with autism and other special needs, and it adds to the richness of what we do, as well as bringing some interesting tangents to our conversations We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant to join our team to support our pupils across the school. This is a temporary position, initially, until July 2026, from Monday to Friday (8.30 am-3:30pm) term time only. The vacancy has arisen as a result of expanded levels of staffing. Start date: 3rd September, 2025 Term time only Salary Type: Bucks pay Salary details: Range 1B (£18,522-£19,448) FTE, depending on experience. Contract type: Fixed Term Hours: 32.5 Closing date: 04/07/2025 23:59, however applications will be considered on receipt. Interviews to be held: Applications considered on receipt About us We are a two-form entry Junior School in the village of Flackwell Heath on a linking site to the Infant School. Our school benefits from friendly, happy, motivated children and staff team, and is well supported by parents/carers and governors. Our school has an 8 place ARP for pupils with ASD. Our school has an active extra-curricular offer, with sports, music, learning and drama clubs taking place most days before and after school. Carrington Junior School is a dynamic place to work with lots going on and a supportive staff team. Our recent Ofsted (October 2024) stated, “The ‘Carrington Way’ guidance for staff makes it clear how pupils’ knowledge and skills in each subject should develop over time…..This guidance helps with their workload and well-being”. The role involves individual and group working across the school, including the possibility of working within our ARP, as well as general support in the classroom. About you We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible, patient, motivated and committed teaching assistant, someone who:• ideally has previous experience of working in Key Stage 2• can work creatively and independently• is keen to work as part of our friendly team• can show initiative and be self-motivated• can work with pupils of all abilities and have high expectations• is caring and will foster excellent working relationships with childrenYou will also have good communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work flexibly and cooperatively in a team context. Appropriate and accurate use of English in written and oral communications and good organisational skills are also required.
