About the role Future Teacher / Teaching Assistant – Primary School, Thurrock Location: Thurrock, Essex Contract: Full-time, Term-time only Start Date: ASAP or January 2026 About the Role Are you passionate about working with children and keen to start a career in education? Our welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Thurrock is looking for an enthusiastic Future Teacher / Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team.This role offers the perfect opportunity to gain practical classroom experience while supporting pupils’ learning, development, and well-being across all primary age groups. You’ll work alongside experienced teachers, gaining valuable insight into effective classroom practice and behaviour management — excellent preparation for those hoping to progress into teacher training in the near future. Key Responsibilities Support the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons across all subjects and key stages. Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils who may need additional guidance. Assist teachers with classroom preparation, resources, and displays. Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, nurturing learning environment. Step in to supervise classes where required, following pre-prepared lesson plans. Participate in school events, extracurricular clubs, and wider school life. We’re Looking For: A motivated and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with children. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A reliable, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting learning. A genuine interest in progressing toward a career in teaching or education.
