My client is a consultancy focussing on sustainable development, climate change risk, energy & carbon management/reduction, natural capital, ESG and the like. They have genuine values which feed into the work that they do and embodies their aim to create climate resilience. Their primary purpose is to ensure that biodiversity is not just protected from harm through development and other land management actions, but is actively enhanced, above and beyond minimum policy and legislative requirements.

Your new role

Lead and deliver high-impact ecology and biodiversity projectsProduce and provide technical QA reviews for reports including PEAs, BNG assessments, BREEAM Ecology Credit Assessments and protected species reports.Produceplex EcIAs, HRAs or other non-typical assessments and reports.Undertake and lead on simple to mediumplexity field surveys including UKHab / PEA and bat surveys.Undertake biodiversity net gain mapping using QGIS and calculations using the statutory biodiversity metric.Manage moderate toplex projects from inception topletion.Collaboration on large-scale projects from inception topletionConduct ecological assessments (PEAs, BNG Assessments, BREEAM ecology reports)Use QGIS and Biodiversity metrics to assess and map biodiversity net gainMentor and support junior team membersEngage with clients and stakeholders, building strong relationshipsContribute to business developmentLead on bat related work including mitigation
What you'll need to succeed
BSc and/or MSc in a relevant degreeProtected species license holder: Level 1 bat license at a minimum.Full CIEEM membership or working towardsExcellent report writing skills and QA experience.Strong GIS skills; QGIS & COREO.Excellent working knowledge of the UKHab and BNG metrics / guidelines.Able to produce a BREEAM Ecology Credit Report for simple to moderateplexity sites.Strong botanical skills and ideally FISC 4 qualified or higher.Strongmunication and interpersonal skills.Full driving license.
