Head of People HRManager2025_1762794825 Posted: 11/10/2025 We are seeking an experienced, commercially aware 'Head of People' or HR Manager to join our growing recruitment business based full-time within our office based in central Reading. This would be leading and running an HR function serving our 13 offices and reporting to the COO and board.You will need to be a confident and capable human resources expert, with excellent organisation, administration, communication and training skills. The ability to provide advice and guidance on HR practice to a diverse range of stakeholders is essential. This is a hands-on role with a strong operational element and requires a responsive individual who has an eye for detail, can work collaboratively and at pace with other business functions.HR DutiesFirst point of contact for Human Resources, supporting managers and employees across the businessEmployee relations - providing a full HR support service on performance, disciplinary and other employment issuesEOT culture and communication - developing and running forums for employee voicesOverseeing and administering the Company appraisal systemAll HR administration including contracts, employment and payroll changesAbsence management and reportingHR Policy - ensuring HR policies are up to date and suitableBenefit management, including holiday schemes, benefits portal, pensions, company carsHR information system managementResponsible for the EDI for the companyResponsible for developing strategy and managing the CSR for the businessL&D DutiesTalent Management - overseeing the employee lifecycle, ensuring we develop and retain top talentDeveloping a company-wide L&D strategy aligned to our business plans, vision and valuesPlanning and organising training workshops with internal and external providersEngaging with the Senior leadership team to embed learning and talent pathwaysSupport succession planning and talent developmentKey Skills and ExperienceManagement experienceMinimum level 5 CIPD or equivalentProven HR Generalist experience, ideally previously within the recruitment industryKnowledge and understanding of the ACAS codes of practiceHighly Organised with excellent administrations skills and attention to detailCommercially awareTeam player with the ability and confidence to work independentlyA can-do attitude, prepared to go above and beyondWhat we offer:Benefits include contributory pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, private healthcare, company trips and events, plus free on-site parking.
