Octavius Finance is working on an exclusive, retained search with a leading global hedge fund to appoint an external relationship manager to their alpha-capture platform.This is a strategic, high-impact position designed for someone with a good understanding of the equity long/short landscape and a strong network within the L/S Equity PM community.The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding and deepening the firm’s network of external managers, sourcing underappreciated yet high-quality equity long/short PMs, and to help conduct investment due diligence on potential contributors.Key responsibilities:Source, identify and engage equity long/short managers at leading hedge fundsSource, identify, and engage with equity long/short hedge funds – particularly single managers, boutiques, spin-offs, and start-ups.Assist with investment due diligence (qualitative and quantitative) on prospective contributorsHelp refine and evolve the firm’s due diligence framework and manager assessment processAct as a senior representative of the firm to external managers and investorsCollaborate closely with portfolio managers and data scientists to translate insights into investable ideasRole RequirementsRelevant experience in Prime Brokerage – Manager Research, Capital Introductions, PB Sales.Origination experience in Prime Brokerage, particularly within L/S Equities, would be highly advantageous.Candidates with similar exposure as L/S Equity Allocators, HF/Alternatives Consultants, or HF Business Development professionals are also strongly encouraged to apply.Strong understanding of ELS managers and fund structures, ideally with global coverage. Candidates with good, well-developed networks of Equity L/S PMs running $150mn-$1bn, are strongly encouraged to apply.Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to engage credibly with investment professionalsEntrepreneurial mindset and a genuine interest in the buy-side investment processQuantitative or analytical background a plus, but not essential.This is a rare opportunity to move into a true buy-side environment, working closely with senior investment professionals and helping to shape the evolution of an established alpha capture platform.To arrange a confidential discussion, please contact .
