Position Overview: As a Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry, you will be a key leader in providing expert psychiatric care to individuals within forensic settings. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of individuals with complex mental health needs, including those involved in the criminal justice system. This role requires a strong commitment to forensic psychiatry and a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of individuals with mental health challenges. Key Responsibilities: Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulating treatment plans for individuals within forensic settings. Providing expert psychiatric input to a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with professionals such as psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists. Leading and overseeing the implementation of evidence-based interventions to address complex mental health issues. Contributing to risk assessments and management strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals and the wider community. Engaging in collaborative work with external agencies, including the criminal justice system, to ensure coordinated and effective care. Qualifications and Requirements: Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). Specialist registration in Forensic Psychiatry. CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) or equivalent in Forensic Psychiatry. Substantial experience as a Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry, demonstrating leadership and clinical excellence. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of the latest research and developments in forensic psychiatry.
