Your newpanyHays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading international retail/wholesale group to recruit a dynamic & hands-on Assistant Accountant to join their established accounting team in Chetlenham, Gloucestershire. Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, this is a varied & broad accounting role offering remote/office hybrid working with the option for future progression/development. The position can offer a financial study package for CIMA/ACCA/AAT if required, with the opportunity to work within an interesting sector. The position will involve various reporting processes, balance sheet processes, through to accounts receivable management, reconciliations and more where you can really support a close-knit accounting function. Your new roleYour key duties will involve monthly balance sheet reconciliations, salesmission reporting for both the UK/US, EU sales/intrastat along with VAT processes. You will support the preparation of US sales tax returns with reconciliations, monthly royalty reporting, along with cash books processes and bank reconciliations. You will review and update aged debt accounts receivable schedules, review outstanding credits, cash allocations and support resolving chargebacks for customers. You will support the Management Accountant with ad-hoc projects and duties with the opportunity to develop further as you progress in the role. What you'll need to succeedTo be considered for this hands-on Assistant Accountant role, you will need some experience in a similar position, a willingness to learn and adapt to business needs, with strong MS Excel skills and knowledge of financial systems. Keymunication skills to build internal/external relationships at all levels, used to managing workloads to meet deadlines, with a proactive working approach. Ideally, you will be AAT qualified, candidates qualified by experience will be considered. You will have strong reconciliations experience, be able to spot any variances and solve problems. Experience within the retail/wholesale sector, international business experience and experience in NetSuite financial system would be advantageous but not essential. What you'll get in returnThis permanent Assistant Accountant role offers a salary between £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Chetlenham, Gloucestershire.
