Role PurposeWe are looking for a skilled and motivated Building Surveyor to join our clients Property Services Team. This is a key role supporting the effective management and maintenance of a varied portfolio of Council-owned assets.ResponsibilitiesManage and respond to reactive maintenance issues across the property portfolioPlan and deliver cyclical and preventative maintenance programmesLead refurbishment and improvement projects, particularly for commercial and industrial premisesUndertake building condition surveys and prepare technical reportsEnsure compliance with statutory regulations, health and safety standards, and council policiesLiaise with contractors, consultants, and internal departments to ensure efficient service deliveryProvide professional advice on building-related matters to support strategic asset managementProduce Schedule of Condition and dilapidation reports for the Estates ManagerSet up contracts, produce Contract Documents (i.e. JCT), Contract ManagementRequirementsDemonstrable experience managing a range of property types, including commercial, industrial, leisure, and historic buildingsStrong technical knowledge of building maintenance, refurbishment, and construction practicesExcellent project management and communication skillsA relevant qualification in Building Surveying or a related disciplineA proactive, solution-focused approach and commitment to public service valuesMinimum 5 years post-graduation experience in relevant fieldExperience of using AutoCAD and producing dwg drawingsPeople management experience
