You do not need to be a qualified teacher; if you have done youth work, mentoring, or been in a role involving leadership or guidance, then you have the transferable skills needed for the role. Long-term opportunities are also available if you want consistency and routine. Whether you're a graduate exploring your options, a teaching assistant ready for the next step, someone with solid youth work or coaching experience, or a teacher looking for flexibility - you've got what it takes to make an impact in a secondary school. What you'll be doing: Stepping into lessons across a range of subjects (no lesson planning required)Delivering pre-set work and keeping students engagedManaging behaviour in a calm, confident way, communicating with warmth and consistencyBuilding quick rapport with students, keeping relationships encouraging, professional and productive Experience that works well in this role: Sports coaching or youth work – if you can manage a football team, you can manage a classTeaching Assistant or Learning Mentor experience – already familiar with the school atmosphere?
