Job Description Electrical Design Engineer Location: Manchester SummaryA successful built environmental consultancy working with major clients in education, commercial, high-end residential, retail, industrial, leisure and more is for looking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our significantly experienced and talented Engineering Team based at our central Manchester office. As an Electrical Design Engineer you will be exposed to many sectors and many cultures. Building Services Engineers design, install and maintain the services that are needed to allow the building to do what it's designed to. What you need to do to be effective in this Electrical Design Engineer role Working as part of a design team delivering design from feasibility to completion and handoverLiaising closely with other professionals including clients, structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teamsAttending a range of project group and technical meetingsEnsuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirementsAdvising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprintDesigning site-specific equipment as required Technical reviews of contractor's proposals and on-site Inspections of the installation of building systems and maintenance and operating proceduresUsing specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit), Trimble (Amtech), Revit / Dialux software and other resources to design the systems required for the project To be successful in this Electrical Design Engineer role you will have: An accredited Building Services degree or relevant higher educational qualification and significant experience in a similar role. Ideally be chartered or working towards chartered engineer status with a suitable institution. Need to be an excellent communicator who can articulate complicated issues between our clients and our highly skilled project teams. Ambition and a willingness to learn whilst demonstrating a high level diligence and organisational skills. Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 dependant on experience plus: 25 days holidays, plus the option to buy, carry over or sellLife assurance, pension scheme and income protection.Performance bonus, car allowance and more based on your role - and progression.
