Job Description Field Service EngineerThis is a great opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a specialist rail engineering company providing depot maintenance services across the UK rail network.Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join their nationwide team, working primarily across the Midlands and South of England. You’ll receive full support and training, with opportunities to progress into senior technical roles.Package offered for this Field Service Engineer role: Salary: £39,720 per annumBenefits: Company van and fuel card, overtime available most weeks, on-call rota 1 in 14, with on-call payment, travel and accommodation covered when required, 22 days holiday + bank holidays, ongoing training and professional development Key responsibilities for this Field Service Engineer role: Perform depot maintenance, servicing, and repairs on electrical and mechanical rail equipmentWork independently on-site to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve faults efficientlyComplete all job documentation using a mobile phone or tabletMaintain excellent communication with clients and the service officeEnsure all work is completed safely, on time, and to rail industry standardsTravel to multiple depot locations across the Midlands and South, including working away from home with overnight stays when required Experience required for this Field Service Engineer role: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering (mechanical knowledge also desirable)Previous experience in field-based service or depot maintenance, ideally in the rail sectorAbility to work independently and manage workload efficientlyConfident using mobile technology for reporting and job managementFull UK driving licenceExcellent fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
