🔹 Locum Consultant Psychiatrist – General Adult Psychiatry📍 Location: Avon & Wiltshire📅 Duration: 3–6 months initially (with scope to extend)💷 Rate: Highly competitive hourly rate (outside IR35 where applicable)🕒 Start Date: ASAP or negotiable Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Locum Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry to join a well-established and supportive Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference while enjoying flexibility, autonomy, and a high-quality working environment. 🧠 About the Role: The successful candidate will provide senior clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team managing adults with a range of severe and enduring mental illnesses. You’ll play a key role in assessments, risk management, treatment planning, and ongoing care coordination for patients in the community. Typical duties include: Psychiatric assessments (initial and follow-ups) Mental Health Act work including tribunals, CTOs, and renewals Leading and attending MDT meetings Liaising with GPs, social services, and other stakeholders Supervision of junior doctors (if applicable) Minimal to no on-call commitment (optional) ✅ Requirements: Full GMC registration CCT or CESR in General Adult Psychiatry Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status (or willingness to obtain) Experience working in CMHTs or inpatient adult services Strong clinical leadership and communication skills 🧩 The Service Offers: Supportive MDT environment with manageable caseloads Flexible working arrangements – hybrid options available Access to Trust IT and admin support Excellent reputation for staff wellbeing and work-life balance 🌟 Why Join Us?
