Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities Lead electrical engineering design and coordination across multiple data centre projects.Produce high-quality technical outputs including reports, calculations, scopes of work, and specifications.Represent the business at design meetings, technical reviews, and client presentations.Develop electrical distribution systems (HV/LV), UPS, generators, protection schemes, and resilience strategies.Review and assess existing facilities for upgrade opportunities, capacity expansion, and MEP improvements.Ensure all designs meet statutory requirements, client standards, and internal quality processes.Coordinate electrical services with mechanical, structural, architectural, and external consultants.Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior engineers within the electrical discipline.Monitor project resourcing, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with Project Managers.Support commercial awareness by identifying risks, variations, and opportunities for additional services. About You You'll thrive in this Senior Electrical Design Engineer role if you bring: A degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).5-10+ years' experience in electrical building services design, ideally with mission-critical or data centre exposure.Strong technical understanding of power systems, HV/LV distribution, UPS, standby generation, and protection studies.Experience delivering complex engineering projects and working across RIBA design stages.Ability to work autonomously while contributing to multi-disciplinary project teams.Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.Confidence in presenting technical information to clients and project teams.Working knowledge of BIM/CAD processes; Navisworks experience is a bonus.Familiarity with mechanical, fire, or public health systems is advantageous but not essential.
