We’re looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a brilliant Primary school in Whitchurch, supporting pupils who need a little extra help to feel confident and thrive in the classroom.You’ll be part of a small, supportive team who genuinely care about every child’s progress and wellbeing. Every day is different, some days are all about quiet encouragement, others might mean helping a pupil regulate and re-engage after a tough morning. Either way, you’ll make a real difference.What you’ll be doing: Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs in small groups and 1:1 settings Helping create safe, positive learning spaces where students can build trust and independence Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to tailor learning to each child Using patience, creativity, and empathy to help pupils manage behaviour and emotions What we’re looking for: Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs A calm, confident approach with a good sense of humour Someone who’s resilient, reliable, and genuinely cares about helping pupils succeed Thrive training (or willingness to complete it for free through Protocol Education) Why join Protocol Education?
