About the RoleAs a CAD Technician you will take responsibility for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings and models for a wide range of civil engineering projects. Working alongside engineers and project managers, you will play a vital part in translating design concepts into practical CAD outputs that meet both project requirements and industry standards. The role offers clear scope for professional development, including progression into engineering pathways. The key requirements for this CAD Technician role are: Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models to support civil and structural projectsWork closely with engineers and design teams to ensure drawings reflect technical requirementsModify and update existing drawings in line with feedback and design changesManage and organise CAD files in line with company quality proceduresProvide support to senior technicians and project managers on delivery tasksEnsure compliance with company and industry quality, safety and technical standardsSupport junior and graduate technicians with guidance where needed Experience required for this CAD Technician role are: Diploma or recognised qualification in CAD Design, Civil Engineering or related disciplineMinimum of 3 years’ experience as a CAD Technician in a civil engineering environmentProficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and RevitExperience working with BIM standards and ISO 19650 workflowsFamiliarity with collaboration platforms such as BIM 360 or ProjectWise Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this CAD Technician role are: Strong technical knowledge of civil and structural design principlesExperience delivering work in a consultancy settingKnowledge of MicroStation workflows in particular is an advantageEvidence of CPD and working towards EngTech or Incorporated statusAbility to manage multiple deadlines and tasks simultaneously Package and Benefits of the CAD Technician role: Competitive salary packageAnnual profit-related bonus under employee-owned statusHybrid and flexible working options22 days’ annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, with option to purchase additional daysCompany pension scheme and group life insurancePrivate healthcareProfessional membership fees paid annuallyOngoing training, CPD and career progression opportunitiesRange of additional employee benefits
