This specialist primary autism provision in Hackney is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and reflective Primary Teacher to join their team from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers who have supported pupils from low-support to high-support autism and want to deepen their practice in a structured, supportive SEN school. Primary Teacher – Specialist Autism Provision in mainstream – Hackney – Education and Training ⭐ About the School The school supports primary-aged pupils with severe Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex learning needs. Class sizes are small, highly staffed, and designed around each child’s communication, sensory, and emotional profile. The school follows a holistic, sensory-aware, child-led approach, with a curriculum centred on: Communication (PECS, Makaton, AAC, visuals) Emotional regulation and wellbeing Early functional literacy and numeracy Life skills and independence Sensory integration and movement-based learning Structured autism-friendly routines You will work closely with a team of experienced SEN Teaching Assistants, therapists, and behaviour specialists, ensuring that every pupil is supported to make meaningful progress at their own pace.
