Description The job itselfWe are currently recruiting a fixed term Intensive Family Coordinator who can think outside the box, have a can-do attitude, and an ability to work creatively to support children and families within our Targeted Intensive Services. This is an exciting opportunity to join our “Making a Change service” which is a multidisciplinary team for young people who are presenting a high level of vulnerability and who are at particular risk of harm from sexual and criminal exploitation and/or going missing.You, alongside our Social Care colleagues, will work with our young people and families to build strong relationships and look at intensive intervention based on their individual needs. This could include support with education, employment or safeguarding within the family and community. You will be keen to challenge stereotypical ways of working and find creative ways to support young people and families.The role will include collaborative working with our partners such as Humberside Police, Youth Justice Service, Anti-Social Behaviour teams and voluntary sectors to safeguard our young people, offer disruption and provide positive opportunities within the community.The Right CandidateThis role is ideal for candidates with a proven track record of working with those children and families with highly complex needs, who are educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. We are looking for an energetic, creative, and experienced practitioner who can demonstrate tenacity and enthusiasm in making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people. You will have a well-developed knowledge of Signs of Safety and have a working knowledge of restorative practice, social pedagogy, and systemic practice. You will have an in depth understanding and experience of working with children, young people, and their networks, as well as a demonstrable commitment to the values of family involvement, relational approaches, and empowerment.You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to demonstrate a high level of motivation and can work independently, with skills in working within timescales and with conflicting priorities.This is not a 9-5 Job and individuals will be required to work flexibly ensuring we deliver support 7 days a week, working 1 in 4 weekends.This will be an extremely demanding role, but also equally rewarding, with opportunity for training and development within the role.No day will be the same, you will be committed and passionate to making a difference to the lives of young people and families within the East Riding.
