About the role Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) (Full-time, Temporary)Chester-le-Street, DH2£262 - £275 per week (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)January 2026 – April 2026The School and RoleThis Primary School in the Chester-le-Street area (DH2) is currently seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work on a part-time basis from January 2026. The HLTA appointed for the role will be covering PPA mainly across KS2, but with 1 session in Reception/Yr1. Therefore, some experience of working across school would be desired. The role is for 2.5 days per week, and will be on an ongoing basis. This is a ‘Good’ Primary school, where staff foster a love of learning and where children feel happy and supported coming to school.Requirements The desired HLTA will have;- Experience of working with primary school aged children- Experience of working with pupils with SEND- A passion for the progress of primary school pupils- An ability to work as part of a teamWhat we offerAs a HLTA, part of our team, you benefit from: Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system.
